According to Guinness World Records, the Pacific Crest Trail, which runs for 2,650 miles (4,260 km) along the West Coast of the USA between the Mexican and Canadian borders, is the world's longest designated hiking trail.
To raise seed money and to expand our program in 2021 and beyond, 8848 Trees has organized a "1-penny-per-kilometer" hiking fundraiser during which the Founder of our organization will thru-hike the entire length of the natural wilderness of the Pacific Crest Trail. We believe that such undertaking in an outdoor setting highlighted with trees, forests, and nature will provide an appropriate backdrop for raising awareness about our organization’s environment-related mission. We intend to raise funding for our startup programs through generous contributions from individuals and donation matches from organizations during the April - September 2021 hiking fundraiser.
We plan to post YouTube vlogs from the trail documenting progress along the hike, beginning the end of April.
Follow the hike and support the fundraiser by contributing 1-penny-per-kilometer, during each kilometer of the 4,265 km long hike, on our portal at GoFundMe Charity (preferred method) or directly through PayPal.
